The second annual St. Petersburg Bowl, featuring a team from the BIG EAST Conference against a team from Conference USA, will be played Dec. 19 at Tropicana Field. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.
“ESPN is excited to bring the St. Petersburg Bowl and college football back to this area and to the local fans,” said Brett Dulaney, executive director of the St. Petersburg Bowl. “We believe our bowl game is a great experience for residents throughout the Bay area and beyond, as well as for the teams, coaches and staffs who participate.”
Last year the game welcomed the teams from University of South Florida and University of Memphis, as well as fans and alumni who enjoyed the beaches, entertainment and local restaurants in the Bay area.
Throughout the college football season, fans can visit the Bowl’s official Web site, www.stpetersburgbowl.com, to keep track of what teams are predicted to potentially face off in the 2009 St. Petersburg Bowl.
